From 2nd to 5th April, 2017, the delegation of vice president of CATAS Pr. Liu Guodao participated in forum of the International Tropical Agriculture in Hanoi, Vietnam on the occasion of 50th anniversary of the International Center for Tropical Agriculture(CIAT). CATAS and CIAT-Asia carried out a deep discussion on the cooperation and reached an agreement. Pr. Liu Guodao made a review on the achievements of the joint cooperation between CATAS and CIAT during the 35th years cooperation. Based on the good foundation established through the long-term cooperation, CATAS and CIAT will rely on the CATAS-CIAT joint office to jointly hold an international academic forum to build joint laboratories to enhance academic exchanges.
Dr. Ruben Echeverria, director of the International Center for Tropical Agriculture expressed the hope that the introduction of technology staff of CATAS to join the International Center for Tropical Agriculture to carry out joint research and development, on the soil, climate change, agricultural information, microorganism and environment improvement, value chain and other aspects of cooperation, beyond the continuation of the traditional areas of cassava and pasture cooperation to deepen the bilateral cooperation.
