Dr. Mei Wenli making a presentation

During the visit, Professor Mei Wenli also gave a presentation entitled “Research and utilization of Agarwood” for the forestry officials, agarwood plantation companies, and agarwood small growers. In her presentation, Professor Mei introduced their researches on agarwood chemical compositions, varietal selection, product development, and development and promotion of agarwood formation induction technology. The two sides have a lively discussion on the variety of agarwood, agarwood planting and agarwood formation induction technology and other related issues.

It is learned that in order to promote the development of a sustainable and healthy agarwood industry at higher pace, the TBBRI by taking the demonstration and promotion of the whole-tree agarwood induction technology as the starting point, conducted overseas joint survey and development of the Aquilaria germplasm resources. It should be noted that the application of the agarwood formation induction technology in six agarwood plantations in Negeri Sarawak, Malaysia, where the new agarwood induction solution ITBB-002 has been used in combination with the latest pressurization technology developed by Fengyang Technology Co., Ltd., has been rewarded with remarkable success.
