Delegation from Finland and Croatia Visits Spice and Beverage Research Institute

On 11 April, a delegation of 18 people from Finland and Croatia led by His Excellency Terttu Anneli•Savolainen, Director-General of Regional State Administrative Agency for Northern Finland, Jouko Kalervo• Manninen, His Excellency Mayor of Kuusamo of Finland, His Excellency Nebojsa•Koharovic, Ambassador of Embassy of Croatia in China, and His Excellency Božidar•Longin, Governor of Zadar visited Spice and Beverage Research Institute of CATAS, with accompany of Professor Tang Bing and Professor Hao Chaoyun, director and deputy director of Spice and Beverage Research Institute respectively.

 

Delegates Visit Xinglong Tropical Botanical Garden

The delegation visited Xinglong Tropical Botanical Garden, tropical spice and beverage crops germplasm resources nursery, crop experimental and demonstrative plot, and exhibition and sale hall of products from research achievements. The delegates highly commended the Spice and Beverage Research Institute for its efforts in science popularization and tourism development.

Professor Tang Bing, Director of the Spice and Beverage Crops Research Institute showed his high appreciation of the rich tourism resources and booming development of tourism in both Finland and Croatia, and cherished the hope that the Spice and Beverage Crops Research Institute can strengthen cooperation with Finland and Croatia in science popularization, tourism development, product development and other relevant areas in the future.

The delegation was specially invited by Shen Xiaoming, the Governor of Hainan Province to attende the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2018 as well as the 30th anniversary of the founding of Hainan Province and Hainan Special Economic Zone between April 8th to 13th, 2018. Soon after the conference, they came to visit the Spice and Beverage Crop Research Institute and the tropical botanical garden.
