On 28 June, the signing ceremony of MOU between the Tropical Crops Germplasm Resource Institute (TCGRI) under CATAS and Faculty of Agronomy, Vietnam University of Agriculture (FoA-VNUA) held in the meeting room located at the fifth floor of Danzhou Science and Technology Building where Professor Tran Van Quang, Dean of FoA-VNUA and Dr. Chen Songbi, Deputy Director of TCGRI under CATAS signed the MOU. The two sides reached a consensus on cooperation in several fields, such as in exchange of tropical crop germplasm resources, joint research projects, and personnel training and exchanges.

After signing the MOU, both sides introduced to their counterparts research activity in each institutions before presentations on fruit tree breeding and paddy rice breeding researches in respective institutions were made.

　　It is learned that FoA-VNUA, one of the three major colleges in the initial period of founding of the VNUA in 1956, is currently the most influential college in research capability of the VNUA, and has good prospects for cooperation with TCGRI in fruit trees, food crops, vegetables, flowers, medicinal plants, etc. Vietnam is one of the countries along the Belt and Road. Therefore, strengthening cooperation with Vietnamese academic institutes will be of great significance for China’s tropical agricultural science and technology going globally.

　　In addition to the two signers, other participants to the singing ceremony were Dr. Nguyen Duc Tung of FoA-VNUA, and relevant scientists and staff from Office of Science and Technology Administration of TCGRI, Fruit Tree Research Lab and Rice Research Lab.
