Embassy of China in Pakistan and Kiribati sent congratulatory letter of new year and thank letter to Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences

      Recently, Ambassy of China in Pakistan and Kiribati sent congratulatory letter of new year and thank letter to Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences (CATAS) to appreciate the positive role the latter played in relationship between China and Pakistan as well as China and Kiribati. Also, they wish the staff of CATAS a happy new year.

     Ambassy of China in Pakistan said 2021 marked the 100th anniversary of founding of the Communist Party of China and the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan. During the past years, relationship between China and Pakistan remained stable and China Brazil Economic Corridor was built into the demonstration project for One belt, One Road. Now, CATAS focused on participating in agricultural and industrial cooperation information platform between China and Pakistan, organizing online and offline technological cooperation on tropical crops such as sugarcane, date palm and forage with Pakistani agricultural scientific and educational institutions and enterprises. Specifically, Gu Wenliang, the agricultural diplomat dispatched by CATAS, was awarded the 2021 Global Ambassador Award by Diplomatic Vision, an influential Pakistan's magazine.

    Ambassy of China in Kiribati said coconut was an essential resource in Kiribati and a main industry developed by its government. They wanted to thank CATAS for its important role in enhancing the added value of the Kiribati coconut industry and promoting the cooperation between China and Kiribati coconut industry. Especially in March and November 2021, CATAS organized the seminar on coconut industry cooperation and training on coconut comprehensive processing, which had a positive impact on Kiribati Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other government departments, private enterprises and media. They hoped CATAS could continue to support cooperation between China and Kiribati coconut industry.

    In 2021, CATAS endeavored to overcame the outbreak of COVID-19 and ushered in a new chapter in international cooperation by the principle of “enhance strength and expand influence “. In that case, CATAS saw fruitful results in international scientific and technological innovation cooperation, in-depth international partnership and the enhancement of CATAS’s contribution to national diplomacy.
