Thermo rubber wood

Author:Rubber Research Institute From:Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences Date:2017-09-12 Hits:
Rubber wood is treated with preservatives against mold/fungus and insects (termite, etc) before kiln drying to a water content range of 8-12% with heat and steam at the kiln temperature ranging from 160 – 220 ºC. The thermo-treatment process is similar to that practiced in Finland. The wood color is dependent on the kiln temperature. The higher the kiln temperature the darker the wood color. Darker wood color similar to teak wood is most favored by Chinese end users. Moreover, the grain structure of rubber wood is dense and attractive. The thermo rubber wood can be used for various purposes.
