On August 23, the achievement of "realizing the independent and controllable source of rubber tree species in China" independently developed by the rubber Institute of the Chinese Academy of Tropical Sciences was successfully selected as the "landmark achievement of agricultural science and technology in the past decade" by the China Rural magazine micro agriculture, rural areas and farmers.

Rubber somatic embryo seedling independently cultivated

This achievement has broken through the technology of secondary somatic embryo circulation and multiplication of rubber trees. It is the first in the world to realize the large-scale breeding of somatic embryo seedlings (self rooted young clones) of rubber tree varieties independently cultivated in China, such as "Reyan 7-33-97". It has built the world's first large-scale production demonstration base of natural rubber somatic embryo seedlings in China, with an annual production capacity of more than 1 million plants It provides scientific and technological support for ensuring the safe supply of national strategic materials and promoting the high-quality development of the industry.
