In order to improve the level of coconut planting and management in Cambodia, share the development experience of coconut planting industry, and promote the exchange and demonstration of coconut standardized planting and management technology, the "Online Training Course on Cambodian Coconut Standardized Planting and Management Techniques" was held online on October 18th .

This training course was hosted by Coconut Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences (CRI-CATAS) and jointly undertaken by Yuhang (Cambodia) International Coconut Development Co., Ltd. Thirty-five people including coconut science and technology experts from Coconut Research Institute, basic-level technicians from Cambodia and farmers who manage the coconut plantation attended the training course.
In the training class, the cultivation expert Prof. Tang Longxiang and plant protection expert Associat Prof. Li Chaoxu systematically and comprehensively gave detailed explanations from the aspects of coconut germination and seedling cultivation, land preparation, water and fertilizer management, flower and fruit management, and pest control, and patiently answered the trainees' questions about the problems encountered in planting coconuts at the Cambodian demonstration base. This training course is taught in Chinese by Chinese experts and translated into Khmer by the cambodian translator.
Participants said that the training content was detailed, targeted and practical, very suitable for the actual production management. They gained a lot and hoped to have regular training in the future.
This training course is supported by the Asian Cooperation Fund Project "Technology Demonstration and Promotion of Coconut Industry in the Lancang-Mekong River Basin". The driving effect will continue to play a role in improving and promoting related technologies in the region.
